ABOUT QUARTZ
Quartz is a recent innovation in the stone industry. It is a natural stone enhanced by artificial techniques.Quartz is made from natural stones that are mined, and/or waste from other quarries that is collected. That stone is then ground down into small pieces. These pieces are mixed with an epoxy resin (glue), making the pieces interlocked and rock-solid. A complete slab of quartz is approximately 93% natural stone, and 7% artificial resin. Because the stone is re-combined, the very best quality and perfect combination and mixture of colors can be guaranteed. This process also ensures that it is completely resistant to stains. Since the individual stones are mixed with a resin, when it dries, it fills even the tightest pores (microscopic holes) meaning that there is no room for water or juice particles to absorb into the stone, and it can be wiped right off. This also removes any place where bacteria or other microscopic organisms may live.

Q. What is natural quartz?
Quartz is one of the hardest components in natural granite. Quartz rates seven out of ten on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. In laymen’s terms that means simply that is is a very strong! The only materials harder are diamonds, sapphires and topaz. The quartz crystals are used to create a beautiful and strong surface that is highly scratch and impact resistant.
